Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Director in Sales to join a fast growing global company offering quality banking software solutions. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Alliances the position is a senior business development/sales role addressing the Tier 1 Retail Banking Segment that operates exclusively on enterprise solutions.
This position is a sales leadership role that works significantly with IBM but also has a remit over the direct Sales Organisation in terms of “Go to Market” strategy and support on strategic deals in the regional sales organisation.

A thorough understanding of IBM’s organisation and work processes is a pre-requisite as is the ability to construct a partner value proposition that can engage IBM, and other client Partners who operate in the T1 space to build our clients market share in the banking segment.

The main responsibility is to build sales methodology and process to ensure the closure of 4 or 5 significant (circa $10m) orders annually based on the IBM Z series technology. There are two main thrusts to successful execution; the development a strategic sales relationship with IBM and the education of the direct sales organisation via a comprehensive “Go to Market” programme. The need to coordinate activity across the Development, Services and Sales divisions and to manage and mitigate conflict across sales channels are part of the delivery package.

Skills & qualifications
• Banking industry domain expertise, specifically core banking.
• Established experience of 20+ years in IT technical field in the banking industry
• Deep understanding of IBM's Banking Industry Framework, specifically Core Banking Domain
• Comprehensive experience across IBM's Software, Hardware, Services products and capabilities
• Proven experience in developing complex solutions combining IBM hardware, software and services for clients
• Demonstrated leadership in collaboration with IBM and other Tier 1 Partner teams when developing solutions involving cross brand components to meet client requirements
• Working experience of the IBM organization with relationships to technical and business leaders in sales, hardware, software and services.
